Jennifer Durden

Postdoctoral Fellow, NTNU

Jennifer is a deep-sea ecologist, oceanographer and engineer interested in human impacts on the environment. Her PhD from the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton, UK focused on the spatial and temporal dynamics of ecosystems on abyssal plains. She has worked on environmental policy development for deep-sea mining as part of the European MIDAS project. As a postdoctoral fellow at NTNU, she is investigating the potential impacts of deep-sea mining plumes on the seabed environment, and how knowledge of this risk could be used in environmental regulation.
